Default Recommend me a battery conditioner

Lads,

Ive had a search but carnt really find a definitive answer. I'd like a battery conitioner to keep my 3 door cosworth up and running. Dont want to spend more than £50.

Also dont bother saying I got one from aldi/lidl ages ago coz i want one I can get/order today.

One question, can I run it on thecar while everything is still hooked up? So like clamp it on as if im jump starting?

Thanks in advance!

Ctek mxs 5.0, been keeping my escos tip top for a year. Comes with a little loom you fit to the batt terminals and then everytime you get home you just pop the bonnet and plug the conditioner in, no pikey clamps, no arcing, no fiery inferno. 100% fine with everything left connected how it should be. There's also and optional adapter that charges through the fag lighter socket, and it's only about £10. No need to pop the hood, very simple

The mxs 3.6 is just as got but cheaper, only down side is it takes a tad longer to charge a dead battery, but if its just for topping up/ storage there's no difference

My sierra is on a halfords maintainer with an extended by me lead as the cars in front of the garage! It plugs on to the battery while its still on the car and its tops up the battery charge when it sees a drop in volts.
It's been in use now for about 2 years with out a problem

I am considering the "Ctek", you can get the 3.6 for around £55, the number just denotes the rate of the charger.

Being that it will only be trickle charging generally anyway, yes you just connect to the battery, you can even get a cigarette lighter connection, so you don't need to open the bonnet, as said (only works if permanently live, which your car is)

I'm using the Optimate 4 which has been connected to my Escort for about 3 years without issue and has not failed to charge a battery to good condition yet

Don't forget to check your cig lighter stays live with the ignition off, it won't work if it doesnt!
