Default Converting my escort 1.3 hcs to 1.6 cvh

Hi all
I'm looking at converting my 1.3 hcs escort to a 1.6 cvh.
Currently I have the engine itself inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, starter and the electrical side of things.
My question to you is what else do i need I'm assuming that this conversion would be similar to a 1.1 fiesta , also ill be staying with carbs so when I get hold of one ill be using the xr2 carb.
What parts can be used from my original engine?
Will my alternator be fine? (it's brand new lol)
Do I need to change the rad ect ect
Many thanks guys look forward to heating back from ya
Cheers

The 1.6 cvh engine is a bag of nails and is not worth spending any
Money on fitting one even back in the late 80's that was a duff engine (I had loads of them when they were quite recent, rubbish in both carb and efi').

Surely its a step up from a hcs though? My advice would be just find an xr2i mk3 fiesta and swap everything over (don't know about the altenator though sorry).

Would agree its not the greatest engine, but deffo a good upgrade from a HCS rattler. A good cvh with healthy carb and 4 branch is still nippy when the car is so light!

You can use your alternator and starter on the cvh no problem, radiator will need to be changed to an XR3i item (i''m assuming its a mk4 Escort your talking about) and you will need a cvh rear engine mount as HCS mount is totally different.

Apart from that you sound pretty much covered. Might as well upgrade to a 5 speed box when your at it!
