Had a ignition problem with my 1.8 Focus Zetec which is now sorted but the engine management light is still on. All ive done is change the leads and plugs as the old ones didnt connect properly and made it run on three cyliders. The engine management came on as i was on my way to change them but now it wont go. What do i do?

 

needs reseting with a code reader, not sure if a battery disconnect will do it, google may confirm.

 

Disconnecting the negative lead off the battery for 10 mins will do it, or I think about 20 on / off cycles of the engine and as long as the fault doesn't reappear it should go out, but the code will stay stored in the ecu and it might stay in limp mode.

Disconnect the battery for a bit will be your best bet!

 

Jumped in the motor today and the light has gone. Job done. Thanks lads
