I have a mk5 zetec S which im wanting to put in a 2l mondeo lump into. How hard is this to do?? Would it be easier to put in a puma 1.7 instead? Please help

The puma lump is a straight swap with the correct Puma engine loom. The Mondeo lump will fit, however it will need a few custom parts, engine mount, loom etc.......

Puma is a LOT easier, but that's not to say the Mondeo is hard, just that the Puma is plug and play lol.

I'd go Puma, cracking engine and only 5 ponies down on the 2.0, and weighs a lot less too!

Nice one , So Would I (Meaning brother in law) need to change the wiring loom for a puma one??

I'm a zetec lover but the 1.7 lump all day long for much better handling, or fiesta st lump if you're a bit plush

2ltr it matey 1.7 puma engines have been do to death.

Is there much difference between the 1.6 and the 1.7.

sorry to jump in on this thread, but what companies carry out engine conversions like above?

i have a mk5 zetec-s too, and looking for a bit more poke from a 1.7 or 2.0 lump...but dont have the space or knowledge to attempt myself
