Going Darkside ???
Thinking of ditching my sluggish ST170 but ford really can't offer me anything better for 10k - the FRS is still too much really!
What do you guys reckon to the darkside? Maybe Scooby RB5 99/00? or any other suggestions. (needs to be upto 5ish years old max)

You knew what i was think Doug , Steve L has been working on me, and just got my broadband back up , so testing the water really, i'd heard this...
...before but thought it might be just a friendly dislike of scoobies by us (ford) lot.
Really am open to ideas as I can't do another 18months of 168bhp bordem
i am thinking chocolate pistons!

NO...because even on Scoobynet, the owners are aware that the pistons/rods are not so tough
Agrrgh - I need to find the impossible - I.e. a newish Ecos, that can be used everyday without breaking, for around 10k - hmm...

Just that WE are used to standard Cossie pistons/rods etc being good for 500 BHP and beyond

I do hate to say it, but as a "package" a Ł 6 - 7 k Subaru Impreza is amasing value, at least when compared to an Escort Cossie of the same age that would be double that money anyway..........

Ok then - thats better. Don't want more than 300bhp (at the minute anyway) just something a bit more fun than the grey ST, gets me down thinking about it . Had my sensible trousers AND shoes on when I brought that
What to do?
Ahh... Doug - Phils not still wanting to sell his nice (newish )saph?

Cheers P1 Sub will have a look see.
Think that alot of people are looking for a sporty turbo ford from the late 90's / early 00's - which doesn't exist. An Ecos is getting to old for me to spend that kind of money on and there is nothing until you get to an expensive 2wd Focus RS that i would be interested in.
whys everyone leaving the ford scene
