Default Mondeo ST TDCI

Hey guys, looking to get one of these and was wondering if there is anything I should look out for/any models to avoid? My motor is on the way out and I've spotted a few decent examples on autotrader with decent mileage for a fairly low price and was curious as to whether or not they're pricey to run. Bear in mind I could (hopefully not though) be doing about a 100 mile commute every day (mainly motorway driving) so just after knowing if the running costs and day to day running are going to be too excessive for me to get one. Thanks

Cheers bud, I've got a mate who runs his own garage and has always done any work on my car and only really charged me for the parts and minimal costs for the labor so as long as items aren't too pricey/difficult to repair then I'm ok really. Looking at getting one with about 90k miles on it, anything to look out for?

Petrol ones are bulletproof, no major hassles at all engine wise, and can be decent MPG on the m/way! And usually cheaper!

Mine (now dads) has just ticked over 103k & the only problems were the EGR valve went (a common fault) & the rear bumper is starting to sag a bit (another common probles). Its an 06 facelift which has the chrome trim.

Get a 55 or newer, I had 05 plate which had common injector problem. They revised the system on 55 ones. Also check for clutch judder, another common problem is dual mass flywheel going, expensive repair bill if it goes.
