Yes, how else could I afford to go to TurboSystems But seriously actually I do, I am now.

Like I say I do sympathise with your position. Knowing the business is out there if only people would stop fannying about on forums and pick up the phone, plus those people would be better off too.

Plus the Internet drives up prices on certain parts with fake rarity. Look at those people making a packet on Ford RS 7-spokes, charging £500+ for a set of wheels you can get from Ford for £350.

That's how much I did pay from Ford mate, honestly I kid you not! Played two dealers off against one another plus Ford employee discount ontop of trade price. Picked them up within a couple of weeks too!

What I should have said is that they are £500 from Ford retail which is like you say the correct price and these bastards on ebay are selling them for a lot more and saying you can't buy them new when you can!

i cant be arsed reading all of this thread because of the bits ive read , its either " i cant make any money anymore" or "im not making it easy enough anymore"
its quite simple , if you cant make teh money - change jobs , if money isnt coming easy enough - find something else to do - SIMPLE

the worlds supplies are going to dry up , happens with everything eventually - who cares ? i dont - i have a cossie , but unlike other i wont be getting ripped off for parts at top dollar i will find something else to use or make something or wait until the right part comes a long at the right price , and 9.99 times out of 10 it will and it will more than likely be on the internet because you can find / do anything without wasteing my time having to go looking for it out on the road or by the phone

LOL I was tempted to try that myself but it was a friends Ford Employee discount and apparently Ford don't take too kindly to their own staff selling on parts at profit LOL

Oddly enough, according to dutch guy looking at my wheels at Ford Fair it's even harder to get them from German Dealers

must be getting thin on the ground now, and is it 10 yrs befor the dealers stop stocking parts or 15 pete?
It starts as early as 3 years, mate ; )))
Trim ... Wiring ... Carpet ... then on to Sheet Metal and Mechanical parts.
Presently, we are on the very edge of availability for Sierra Saph/2WD & 4WD
Also Escort Mk4 .. and Mk5 parts (as above )
Other week, I had to bring some Cossie Caliper seal sets in from Denmark .. some of the last around.
Take a tip from me .. If you want to keep a Focus .. Dont!

I bet you want the parts sent to the garage that will be fitting them for you aswell because who would expect you to get dirty fitting these parts when you can e/mail the garage , get them to collect , fit the parts and return the car to you while you sit at your desk ,,
Doyou also get a mate to drive it for you aswell
and ? this could be described as customer service, i take it you make a profit ?

E/ bay is flooded ..WITH SHIT ,, look what people sell on there ,,all the crap we throw away ,,Proper good condition parts are hard to find , we are not saying right now parts cant be found , the post says IF YOU READ IT where do you think the prices of rs parts is going we are saying that they are getting harder to find THATS ALL and that because of this we see the value of parts going up .
And yes i do make a proffit , And i work bloody hard for it , i just dont sit on my arse call my supplier , unpack boxes when they arrive then sit at my computer take orders then send the parts out again ,, I catually work for my proffit

Markk
Its easy for you to say that , you cant just bodge together a part for a stunning cossie like you can for a old track car mate ,, they aint quite the same are they

Anyway talk about getting off topic ,,so what about these parts prices lol ,,
Im not being a bit cheeky here Paul, but tis jsut something to consider when you are doing this in the future , as i sell products all day long via the net and telephone. Someone asks for a price , then you give them it you automatically know that they are going to email back asking the next question, which you can proably guess yourself. Why dont you just answer all the questions before they have asked ?

i.e The manifold is £100, its in good condition, been used for 2 years, no cracks etc, came off a 90 plate rs turbo, and will fit on all rs turbos. I have the item in stock , it can be with you next working day from when you order , postage is £10 , so your overall cost is £110. We accept all major debit and credit cards or you can also pay by cheque or bank transfer.

One reply mate they got all the info they need. Not having a go , but just saves you getting pissed off having to answer loads of emails to the 1 person about the same thing. By the way that was just an example

I cant say your wrong ,,but my point is ,,I dont want to sell my parts through e/mail If i am 100% honest i dont reply to many as when i have been at it for 10 hours that day i just cant be bothered to reply to e/mails ,, The reason for this is because i hardly ever give a reply to e/mails about parts then actually sell to that person ,90% of people who mail me never buy ,, And dont bother saying this is bullshit because if i found it to be a good way to sell i would have more time for people who mail me but sadly most are time waisters that are at work with nothing else to do than pester people like me ..
People think i have about 10 men working for me and i just sit at the computer all day waiting for e/mails etc

ANYWAY , We are of topic again

There are more places to advertise a car than on here you know this site isnt particulary good for selling cars as people want a concourse motor for average motor money,I have prooved this time and time again put a car on here for a few weeks then bang it in the trader its gone the same week, different class of people.
but were well of topic now you either like it or you dont but prices are rising for cars and spares

Sallmotorsport is still trading. However he has decided like you that full cars are hard to source now and sell for parts to make a profit on and he has decided he will sell up by the endof this year and is buying his own convenience store in Stoke somewhere>

cossie greens are 50 quid each new , for injectors it rather buy em new or cheep second hand to 120 quid is the max i would pay !!!!

think if there fooked, ya gotta pay for em to be flow tested before ya cars mapped as i know im selling my injectors on ebay when i get me greys and thats cause they have be used with BP's finest diesel for about 30 seconds, they work fine but dont wanna rip anyone off i know

NORTH YORKS RS SPARES,
Markk
Its easy for you to say that , you cant just bodge together a part for a stunning cossie like you can for a old track car mate ,, they aint quite the same are they

the problem with you as in traders in that you say 'bodge a part together like you can for an old track car' - your right , i for one wouldnt use the cossie parts as in theyve already failed in the 1st place so you have to "bodge" together a better part to replace the broken/bent on you take off. and because your profit margins decrease then you have to try and justify an increase in prices to keep your margins so the job is worthwhile doing - its business i know
if it isnt paying then up your prices - i wouldnt pay what i call extosionate amounts for std part as there just not worth it - there are 6 times out of 10 other parts that are available that will do the job equally as good that just dont say "COSWORTH" on them made by the same people
