Default Trying to identify this engine

Found an engine in college today with ford badges on most of the parts, its a 3 cylinder but not an ecoboost as it had parts with dates from around 2005/2006.

Someone said it was possibly a prototype engine, unfortunatly I was busy and didnt get a piccy so il explain it.

It was 3 Cylinder Petrol, Multiport injection. Coil on Plug set up, Belt driven. Looked all aluminium/ Black plastic cam cover and belt cover. I also looked like it had veins on the inlet ports like the twinport systems on vauxhalls. 12valves aswell twin cam.

Didnt look like it had ever been run.

Ring any bells? There was no sign on any turbo or anything, though it did have an oil cooler on the standard removeable oil filters (not paper type).

It's an old prototype sigma (zetec-s, puma etc) 3 cylinder. Basically a 1600 with a cylinder lopped off. Was developed, tested, was rubbish, and the dev/prototype units were sent to colleges for training purposes. We just got a load back from Liverpool university
