Default some daft questions(cosworth)

its been 10 years since my last cosworth and im a bit rusty (like most fords after 10 years lol)
ive just brought a 4x4 cosworth,thats been converted to 2wd off a lad on here(crazy kid 1)
https://passionford.com/forum/cars-f...se-delete.html

and its not at my house at the mo so i can't look.

on a 4x4 where is the temp sender for the dash?

what is the difference between the red and green top, was it just to show unleaded fuel and cat,
as it looks like the engine has been changed at some point.
so is it classed as a later spec engine as it has a lambda sensor.

i want to buy new sensors, thermo stat, wasted spark and closed loop for it.
and just need to know if you can tell by lookin or head/engine numbers

like i said daft lol.
cheers Dan

temp sender is under inlet manifold at the rear of the engine just above oil pressure switch
4x4 saff's had the lambda sensor on l8 ecu (think it was a green cam cover)
closed loop will be already in the ecu if its a l8 with a green label
wasted spark will fit all models i think

Red top won't have lambda
Green top will.
Check your ecu it should be a l8tr and have a green label.
Some one must of swapped the cam covers

Thats because it would have been an early 4x4, the red cam cover would be correct.

These did not have CL (YBJ)

YBG had CL as well as catalyst converter.

Both use the same L8 ECU but obviously run different software.
