Post Newbie needs some help!

Hi there guys, i'm fairly new to the forum, just wanted to ask a quick question. I've just started to clue myself up about my car and cars in general, and am now trying to enhance the performance of my car. I'm not even sure I am posting in the right part of the website but bare with me lol.

My question is: someone told me that installing a cold air feed will improve performance of the car as well as the sound of the car. Another person told me that my car already has a cold air feed. So was wondering if my car does have a cold air feed, and also how i would go about installing a cold air feed for minimum money...I already have installed a cone air filter, not sure if that has anything to do with it...

My car is a Focus C Max 2004 2.0l TDCI

Replies would be much appreciated!

Welcome
Cold air has more volume than hot air so you get a better bang inside the cylinder .
If you already have a cone filter and you want to run a cold air feed just run a pipe from the front of the car and route it so it its about an inch from your cone filter

Cool thanks

thanks for the reply guys...in response

so basically i need to run the ducting from the end of the cone filter outwards? may i ask outwards where exactly, the engine bay isn't huge on the c max lol...and there aren't any places i could place it so the end of the ducting is on the outside of the car if that makes sense...

with regard to remapping i don't really have £300 to spare on a remap, although i hear they're good...instead i've been a cheap skate and bought a tuning box, will see what that does lol...am also planning on tinting rear lights
