Default Nice looking cheap diesels daily runner??

Think im after a new dailey runner needs to be cheapish tax and cheapish to insure.i want something that looks good but is on the smaller side and cheap to run.will also be used for going out at weekends with the missus ect so needs to be pretty decent looking around the 2-2500 pound mark might be able to squeeze a little more.but whats about? Mk1 SEAT Leon 1.9 TDi (150) FR

Pretty much as Derby Gav said, these are VAG without the VW/Audi price tag.

Leon is based on the VW Golf/Audi A3, same engines, just different suspension set ups

The Ibiza is based on the Polo

The SEAT is the 'sporty' arm of the VAG group, so suspension is tuned as such

Also give my vote to the Skoda Fabia VRS Diesel - same 1.9 VAG Tdi as i the Leon FR i think

A friend of mine is putting his 5 door golf gti TDi up for sale sure it's about the Ł2700 mark iirc

The car has been remapped to 180 bhp or something like that but goes really well such a nice car to drive and so smooth , it's fitted with leather and all the extras like trailered mats etc really nice car , he looked at loads before he found this one

Don't know if it's of any interest to you

A 1.4 hdi Peugeot 206 has cheap road tax and does about 44 mpg ,You can get a 2 door 4 door or an estate and parts are just about free due to how many there are about ,they are nippy-ish for that sort of thing ,very reliable ,easy to drive and live with
and nobody bats an eyelid at them ,perfect IMO

Don't bother, Fucking hateful things. If it's the 1.3 it's a Fiat motor and not very good. If it's the 1.7 it's the Isuzu motor that cooks the diesel pump module for the fun of it. They also seem to like cooking their body computers if the battery gets low.

I would, and in fact have, rather walk than drive one.

Nice and Corsa C should not be used in the same sentence.

My ex missus had a 04 Corsa SRi 1.7 CDTi thing, it brokedown more times than she did

Ecu melted a pin, fuel pump died, then the acelartor pedal broke

Anything with a VAG PD`130 engine gets my vote!

More miles, the better mate! Just make sure it has a very good service history. 1.9 tdi pd 130 is the one to go for.

My passat has done 300k and still drives like new, my dad bought it new and hasn't had any problems with it

why not try an old school citroen diesel, they are cheep as chips run for ever and can cleaned up with the cash you would save on the initial outlay! - some of them even run on chip fat!
