Default escort mk6 starting problem

I just had my clutch disk changed on my escort mk6, for some weird reasons the car won't start after that the new disk was fitted and everything mounted back. the starter works and runs the motor but the engine just wont start. mechanic and electrician checked that all wires have been properly re connected after new disk fit. i am thinking that it may be the engine immobilizer that won't get the engine going? since batteries or possibly some other cable has been disconnected for quite a while?

As well there always used to be a small click/whining sound in the engine when you turn the key twice before, and now that click is gone...any ideas? When you turn the key on 3rd go engine turns over but it won't start. Please help. Thanx.

It's most likely coincidence, the starter turns the engine over, nothing more, so the fact it is doing so shows it to be working.

As to the non starting, well it could be an intermittent immobilizer, although unlikely, easiest thing to do is to look at the LED, when the ignition is switched on it should extinguish?

When was it last serviced?

it was a damn fuse that had gone out and preventing the fuel pump from priming when you turn the key twice, can you believe it!

And now for another question, is it normal that while in motion, you lift your right foot from accelerator, press clutch and change gear but the car keeps acceleration even though your foot is off the accelerator?

No lol, sounds like a sticking throttle, so check the cable etc, that or ISCV is raising the speed.

Don't rush to buy those parts,I've had this with loads of fords after a battery has been disconnected then reconnected.
It's just the ecu sorting itself out, give it a few days and see if that works, otherwise follow martins advice.
