Default What shall i do next?

Hi

For those of you that dont know i own a Norris Motorsport prep'd s2 escort that ive not long had built by them, about 3 months ago..

Basically im thinking of selling it because i dont have the money to use it as a daily or to just have it sitting in a garage somewhere..However im currently on a running in map that Karl has done, ive done 2000miles+ on it and im a little bored of the running costs and im looking to start my own business soon so id like to put some money into that..

The question is, Do i take it back to NMS and have it mapped properly or do i sell it before its mapped and i get to attached to it..

Only trouble is that i need an 044 fuel pump, fuel pump wiring, new front shocks before it can be mapped, all 3 of them are adding up to atleast £350 before its even mapped, As i just said i dont really have the money to put into it to be honest and im thinking that if i get it mapped etc id end up keeping it even though i cant afford to..

Would it be more sellable as it is now or would i benefit from mapping it and selling it with 270bhp+?

Incase of any confusion im not asking for people to say how much they think its worth etc or any figures because by all means this isnt a "whats it worth" thread..

Thanks, Joe

Yeah i was only advised to run it in for 1000miles i just havnt got back up to NMS for them to map it, the engine is well run in but NMS is 240miles away from me so its a good 500mile round trip which is alot just for mapping :/

Personally I would be wary of an un mapped car

Not saying there is anything wrong with yours it's just a well mapped proven engine is worth more that ain't.

If ya get me

its not a lot when you consider that the mapping will make or break the engine

The NMS running in maps are safe, it's just everything is turned down as such so there isn't as much stress on the engine. However I think it'd be easier sold as a finished item! Also if you think a 500 round mile trip is bad - try living here! Every mapping trip involves ferries and flights

joe i would imagine you will lose a lot more than 350 plus your mapping costs if you dont get it mapped and a clean bill of health from karl

I'm the same. I'd always question why it hasn't been mapped properly. Makes me think the seller knows it's not necessarily up to performing as it should or maybe has a problem. Not that i'm saying this is the case here obviously.

The other reason is that if i get a new car i want to be able to use it, i'd be a bit frustrated to then find out i couldn't book it in for 2 months or something like that. So that would put a few people off i reckon.

Best bet would be get it mapped then sell if you can.

if i was in the market for another turbo nutter mobile and the owner selling was doing so because they couldn't afford to get it mapped i'd not touch it with a barge pole as i'd want to know what other corners had been cut. It's a no brainer chap - you have to get it done.
