Flat spot

does anyone know how to cure a flat spot on the engine which only happens when first pulling away from a standing start. its okay once the revs pick up.

what engine, management, carbs etc. ?
sounds like it's either running lean or rich, more than likely lean or an air leak/vacuum issue.

Its a 1.6 zetec s so I will take a look and check the vacum pipes etc when I get home. Thanks
