You can get a good road worthy mk2 RS2000 for 8-9k, some are more, some are less, mexicos are harder to value IMO, seem to be a lot rarer these days, there arer also 1600 sports which also fetch good money, and the daddy, the RS1800, approx £45k if you can find one.
An RS1800 for you, personaly, I'd love a goldcrest
One of them^^ Rare as rocking horse shit these days!!

Zee Germans are coming
I can't understand why the rs1800 is worth a lot more than the rs2000
Is it to do with flat front and less numbers of them about
Genuine question
I also had a rs2000 with a tt pinto turbo and it was with out a doubt the worst car I've had
Really can't see the appeal to them

The TT pinto turbo could be to blame there. Gotta say, everyone I've spoken too who owned/driven one loved them.

Probably due to the fact it was THE homologation special, and it had the BDA

The RS1800 had a BDA engine fitted for rallying purposes bit like the RS500 run for homoligation

What you need is to keep it simple and old skool, pinto (bored out or with a long stroke crank), and great dirty set of carbs!!! Then lower it, decent box and diff, 4 pot callipers, thern they are truly awsome!
