Default Caught Speeding---opinions please

Got caught doing 39mph in a 20mph zone in City of London by digital front facing cameras at 0400 hrs in the morning and letter came through this morning. Is it likely i'll get 3 or 6 points and will I have to go to court or will it get sorted by post???

Also do you have to produce your MOT and insurance docs if you go to court or is it just a case of surrendering your driving licence.

Cheers

You wont have to produce an mot or insurance mate.I got done and a few mates have been as well and they arent interested. Its only the money their after.dunno about 3 or 6 points. Its 3 up to a certain speed over the limit but not sure what the cut off is.You want to write to them and ask for the picture as well.Think you have a right to ask so you can prepare a defence if you wish to.Best of luck mate.Fookin scum pigs screwin motorists at every opportunity.

Suppose you could but i bet they have wised up to it by now.I think fixed camera prosecutions have to arrive by 2 weeks and mobile ones have 3 months.Dunno if thats true but i got told that a while back.

My girlfriend has just got away with doin 45 in a 30, caught by a front facing camera!

First letter arrived within 2 weeks - ignored

Second letter arrived recorded delivery, not signed for, sent back to post office

Letter arrives telling her she has a letter waiting at the post office - ignored

Letter arrives telling her she has to go to court for failure to respond

Went to court last week, pleaded "not guilty" (the only 2 words she said in the court room). The case was dropped as they could not prove she had not received any of the letters and the central ticket office had not sent the letters to the court!

(She works in a solicitors)

i heard of someone getting the points put onto their old aunts/uncles/friends licence as they dont drive anymore , or have a clean licence so it wont effect their insurance, and as they dont want to see your documents it wont matter to them as long as they get the cash,i know a couple of people who have done this.

Mate of mine used his dads licence as he did`nt drive any more, cheeky f$%ker only used 3 times though, good job they never checked as I doubt many 80 year olds would handle an Evo 6.

I think you can get done for 'Perverting the course of Justice' if they realise someone else is taking your points.
just get ya old man to send the licence off as he remembers driving down that road at that time too , dont ask for a photo as ya dad thinks its him and you dont remember speeding

They've attached 3 pics to the letter......one close up of the plate, another of the whole car face on and a general pic of the car from a distance. This surely means they can see the driver

Can't use anyone elses license unfortunately as they don't wanna take the wrap...so I just need some opinions on how many points I can expect.

Anyone with experience of this sorta thing--anyone else with any idea--any traffic cops on ere?

Once again, cheers for the responses
