Integra DC5 vs Fiesta RS turbo-your predictions?

You guys keep watching the Honda's bhp but torque is what pulls a car & they have none, the Fiesta matches his bhp with torque. my advice is lower your tyre pressures & practice getting the car off the line, as long as you can move with him the torque will pull you up top.

Early B series weren't so great, which is what gave VTECs a name for having a lack of torque.
Having been in a friend's DC5, with just breathing mods, it'd see off much more powerful cars.
Sorry bud, but I think you'll get dusted. I hope not, but yeah

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Now. I think I know an EP from a DC, but the Civic's with the gearstick coming out of the dash(EP are they not?) are not great straight liners. I'm guessing it is the nice looking later Type R ye are on about. Anyway. I have been in and driven a couple of car's that are of very similar power to the EP and beat them. E36 328i, and a stripped out banger of a Scorpio 24v which once moving pulled away nicely. The later ones look great and no doubt are faster with 200+ bhp as ye say, and a good diff. I'd still however expect a 180 bhp FRST to be a very close match, or win with a good driver.

Ah, feck. Now I get it(I've been drinking). EP3 is Civic with the dash shift. DC5 is the later Integra (the one I like and the one ye are on about). DC2 is the old school hardcore one. EP3'S are the common one's I see lowered with loud exhausts and driver's who lean WAY back in their seat. Hence why I beat them. They couldn't feckin see where they were going.

I'd love to have a drive of, or even own a DC2 or DC5. They seem to be more focused on performance. I'll be totally honest. I wouldn't want to meet even the EP3 on a track. I'm well aware they can handle the twisty stuff. I'll always take one on on a dual carriage or a motorway though.

there you go though, your graph clearly shows you have more than the peak of the intergra for just over 2500rpm, i'd almost bet the curve from the integra has 150lb/ft for a hell of a lot longer.
i'd love the ford to beat it, just realistically i know how fast those things are, on a launch they'd muller my xr2 zt, n/a is just so much more progressive and therefore better traction instead of the wheelspin happy turbo setups.

The fiesta is going to spin in 1st and maybe 2nd if your really giving it all its got, but slightly holding back until it grips and giving it all it has for me says win.
I am off to Youtube to see what these DC5's can do.

why would i want to waste 50quid fuel ? and a day ? for what ? to beat some dickhead in a honda .. when i could beat the same dickhead 2 minutes away and waste just 5minutes and a fraction of the fuel .. not very clever

If it's tailing off about 5500rpm (can't see pics at work) I would say it was the standard inherent flaw to the ZVH and you should invest in having the head worked on to cure the problem. With regards to the fuel pressure regulator I would say it sounds like they want to sell you stuff. My brothers FRST was going for 300bhp and was on the stock FPR and I'm pretty sure my mates Zetec turbo Fiesta runs the standard FPR too.

I agree! I've run stock FRP on modded CVH's and on ZT to well over 300bhp, no drama.
Regarding the race, I think the chronic wheel spin from the FRST will leave you with to much of a gap to claw back. It'd be close but my gut says he will just pip you.

1/4 mile beasty!!!!
That is the thing really, there is more to it then the power etc, for example, whilst a Cosworth has blistering acceleration, the 1/4 mile is not really that good in comparison, even in tuned cases, due to the terrible suspension, they can't put the power down efficiently.

I see what everyone say TBH as 1st is pointless in my car, 2nd is okish if you go gently into the gear (if u know what i mean) 3rd is generally the longest most enjoyable gear the car, BUT it depends on the weather, if the road has abit of damp on it i can light it up in 2nd and 3rd without trying, and thats with a stage 1 LSD box and Toyo t1r tyres allround with koni suspension
