I couldnt log in to secure parts of ebay or onto xrtwo.com (a problem experienced by loads of us in the nttingham/derby area using ntl) so i now use a proxy server to connect and also mozilla firefox although since i switched to the proxy ie is also fine.

i had this problem too, turned out to be a virus that had stopped IE working the way it was supposed to, even after installed norton internet security it still didnt work,

so i backed up my docs, nuked the hdd and reinstalled windows with the forst program after that being norton, since then everyting ok dokey.

the problem will be firewall or pop blocker related. I have ntl here and on this pc i have trouble at times with ebay. However on my laptop which is pre service pack 2 xp on it, ebay works fine using same ntl conntection.
