You are missing the point phil, when you get a car you always say its great at everything, the 400bhp E36 m3 etc for example, then when you get rid of it you say it was rubbish at everything and the new one is better at everything and only a mug would ever own the same car as you used to have etc etc.

Would be nice to read balanced reviews comparing one accurately against the other instead.

Baba, the M5 V10 is not what i'd call a car u can use daily, now at the time i had one it was epic, the gear change going fast the noise thanks to tubi the iconic status of having a V10. I sold it because the gear change driving around town was horrendus imo it also sounded like a diesel low down and the fuel consumption was terrible averging 13mpg going slow! Also the fact if you owed a 530 diesel and stuck the bodykit on with wheels youd me an m5 lookalike and sound alike ! Now the audi is deffo quicker with all the torque not top speed but who cares? Cant easily be copied plus the sound oh the sound! Plus a full auto tiptronic gearbox is lovely and fuel consumption suprisingly good. Plus the saloon rs6 is quite rare i really cant beleive people prefer the "hearse" look? Lol

 

Phil go and get a proper audi..the rs6 was a weapon and still is if you havnt been in newer ones..

The rs4 v8 n/a is so much better,not as quick as yours now but much better 4x4 system bullet proof engine and a proper 6 speed box with a 60/40 split..

Or even better the newer rs6..now thats an epic car and will do 650=700 hp with ease as well as having all the better transmission and brakes and handling..

The older rs6 is now pretty out dated and very temperamental...

When you do get a newer audi you will then be rightfully telling us how much better it is!!!lol

I have to say, the V10 M5 is quick no doubt, but it does not feel fast really? I suppose with 500Bhp & 2000Kgs it's only 250bhp/tonne?

Beautiful motor, but very hard to see where it sits for the average car enthusiast now, too expensive to run daily, too heavy & not really that "special" to keep as a weekend toy, plus mega maintainence costs outside of BMW warranty! I can see good E39 cars being worth more than the E60s in the long run?

 

I do miss my sl55 amg though that was a nice car but the 360 came up and they offered such a good deal because the boss wanted the sl! The only regret is the colour red as i seem to stick out like chip in a room full of 12 year olds

 

log block 032 and block 001 with vagcom/vcdsif you can. If it's from a dimsport generated file, they can be a bit ropey on this ECU

 

Ima, Mapping the engine gives more bang and midrange

for impressive figures we used to map the gearbox first then start engine gains after that

much better
