Jack and the Beanstalk

Dear Reader,

I'm wondering if there is such a thing as a vehicle part index.

With each VIN is the information stored as to what part with its part number was put on the vehicle when it was built with the corresponding diagrams? If so, where or who can I get this information from?

I think my vehicle has some minor parts missing and I'm trying to identify what needs replacing.

If this index / information exhists, I can then also do a fully comprehensive inspection and replace the broken or missing using the part numbers.
