thought i'd share my new purchase with you lot! although it's not a ford i've always fancied one and for £200 i couldn't say no.

put it in for it's mot the other day and it failed on tyres, handbrake and a ball joint so it's currently lying in bits whilst i fit new wishbones, droplinks and bushes both sides on the front (got a good deal on the bay so just going to do both sides) got full leather/sunroof etc and even came with a mint unused rc041 bbs split rim with new michelin tyre in the boot!

anyway here's a couple of pics of it. once i spend a wee bit of time fixing it up it may become a daily driver / sideways toy or whatever. might even sell it and buy some new toys for the RS!

yeah mate thats what i was like!! lol the guy i bought it off who knows nothing about cars was going to scrap it the next day if i didn't take it away. kinda like the fact that i've saved it's life haha.

i've always had a wee thing for bimmers. had a 1996 320 touring and that was an absoloute dog comared to this one! this is a late 1997 and even came with the private reg.

only a few wee bubbles of rust on the arches etc but it's solid, the leccy windows don't work (both stopped at the same time so shouldn't be anything too serious) and the boot catch is fooked so a not bad wee project

has done 150k but the engine is sweet as a nut but has all old mot's and fully stamped up book (bmw main dealer till 120 odds)

A couple of my mates had these,iirc I think the biggest problem with was the cam chain on a 328.I have had a couple of E30's,E28's and a couple of E34's.Atm my sister has a Z3 and my mum has a E93.Maybe another one should be on my list Pretty sure none of them could be worse on fuel than my current 2.8lwb shitgun .Oh I also remember someone a long time ago having a 750IL and that seemed ok once wound up

haha well i've not had much chance of a decent shot of this one yet since that ball joint was beyond wrecked. genuinely thought the wheel was gonna come off! but seems better on fuel than my mk1 frs, im addicted to the noise from that tho lol. folk have apparantly seen 35mpg whilst on a run in the 328's so if i get 25-30 i'll be a happy chappy

what are peoples thoughts on spraying the wheels yellow? they need tidying up and i'm going to do them myself anyway. fancy doing something a bit wacky with this one and was thinking about doing my mk1 frs wheels orange but think i'm gonna keep it standard looking outside

lol was a guy from my work that knows nout about cars. its a sport aswell on the logbook!

was described to me as 'needing a lot of work done, the back brake light and front lights don't work and the boot wont stay shut'

the bulbs weren't twisted into place and it's just the catch on the bootlid thats needing replaced. not got round to the leccy windows yet but shouldn't be too serious

it's just one wheel mate was a spare in the boot that i didn't know about until i got home. it's got 17" ac schnitzer's on it that need a tidy up.
