Default Another Focus or an Audi A3

Hi Guys,

I'm getting a bit bored of my current car which as the subject line suggests is a Ford Focus 1.8. I'm going to be looking at changing cars in the next couple of months, but can't decide whether to go for another Focus, or change completely and get myself a nice Audi A3, does anyone have any suggestions or advice they can give in regards to both cars. i.e. repair bills, reliability, etc etc.

Thanks in advance for any response

Well the Focus is certainly going to be cheaper to repair, IF it goes wrong, and more reliable for sure I should think!

I don't like small "Prestige cars" personally.

I just went from a MK1 Focus 1.8 to a 2009 MK2 Focus ST. Best decision ever!

No brainier for me really. Build quality of the Audi is head and shoulders above any new Ford I have been in. I bought my Mrs an A4 SLine to run as a dailey for the school hack and it's perfect. My daily cars will always be German from now on.

I assume you are talking about a Focus and Audi of the same age?

Yeh that's right, I can't afford the brand new prices, so it'll have to be an oldish one that's been well looked after. By the time I've sold the current car, I should have somewhere in the region of Ł1500-2000 not a great deal of money but not bargain basement either. Seen a few on autotrader in my local area going for Ł1500+ with service history.

Both decent motors so buy the best car you can for your money. If you get a better lower mileage focus for the money then do that.

Personally i think the audi is a better car, of what about a mk4 golf tdi?

Is there really any need to ask this question?
The Audi is leagues ahead of the Focus, in every aspect. Don't get a Golf, ever so dull and boring.
Thought about a Leon?
