Default 200 block question

Were these used in any other variant like a pinto or were they purely for the yb turbo engine? Any other identifiable marks other than the 200 stamp?

Only I've found a block for sale but the seller doesn't really know anything about it and I don't want to end up buying a big lump of metal for nothing...

Cheers

No, they were only used in the 4x4/Escos, the actual reason for it's use was due to the transmission stress from the 4x4 drive train.

I can't remember the exact way to tell but there are differences, for a start the block is heavier (Not that that would help you)

The way to tell it apart if to do with the position of an oil gallery, which differs from 205 blocks, I seem to remember there is also more "meat" near the bottom, hence why these can be 'long studded' and 205 blocks can't.

It should also have YBG/YBT/YBP etc stamped on the front of the block, followed by some digits.

Cheers Martin. So if it's stamped 200 it's safe to assume I can build my Cossie engine from it? Also do you know anything about these "Turkish" ones? Are they identifiable and what are their downfalls?

Cheers,

Dan
