chop where did you get those plates made.been looking for a private plate but want it a bit smaller but still legal.what size is it overall if you can be arsed measuring.

I actually cut down the plates myself as the ones I got made were shite
I bought cheap ones from the motor factors with no border and trimmed the sides. I think they look well.
To be fair if the OP is happy with the plate that's all that matters, everybody's different
Personally I like private plates, if good or even if 5 or 6 digit they can make a car look a bit better, I'm not into plates that are doctored but you still can't make out what they say, I only had a slight mod on my E6COS plate to make the 6 a bit more like an S.
Chop, trimming the plates is what I used to do, but that is classed as illegal now if you remove the code that's normally on the lower right of the plate.

I didn't know that... so if you buy a set of custom (but legal font/spacing etc) plates specifying that they are manufactured with no excess around the edges, will that number still be present?!

I got my last plates made all the way to the left hand side that way you only have to cut down the right hand side an still have the bsau145d code bottom left
