anyone know anything about these very rare mk1's, everything points to a friend of mine having one, but can't find much about them to verify, its said that only 2 remain, so this would make it 3, any info or pointers as the where to get info would be good.
We featured a restored one in Classic Ford back in January 2012 if you can get hold of a back issue. There was a fair bit of info about them in there.
read it, very interesting, is there any where or anyone that could verify a reg number or chassis number, apparently when he go the car many years ago he remembers the super speed badges but binned them thinking they were halford specials!!!!!!! it is also said that his it the only bubble arch one that was made, and had a private plate on from new
a mate in a custom club im in has one.
he says its original and has the original bill of sale, was from Bristol Street motors ,has a 3.1 essex engine, ford falcon rear lights ,wooden dash and leather interior.
the cars still not even done 20k apparently. its got a bulge in the bonnet and has slightly wider arches.
ive seen the car a few times now and its absolutley stunning but as already pointed out ,its hard to get any info about these cars.
maybe his is also one of the possible 3????
Fella near me in lincolnshire has one in a mettalic dark red colour. He's had it years. Dont know if its genuine but its has a 3.1 v6 and superspeed badges and different back light to normal escorts
If were talking a bugundy metallic then he'll be the same guy.its absolutley mint.
Not really into escorts myself buy you'd struggle not to love his one. I was going to post a pic but thought better of it seeing as its apparently so rare. Is never heard of the superspeed till I met him at a car show.its still in its original paint too which shows how well he's looked after it.in fact, every show I've been at he's spent most of the time polishing it.
It is a burgundy metallic. He's from down south but lives in lincolnshire. Comes into my work sometimes and shows it at the local car shows. Its is very original. Strangent sounding exhaust note ive ever heard also

They must have been a seriously quick car in their day, very light car with a 3.0 V6 Essex must have been great fun!!! I bet the one up for auction will fetch big money.
