On way to Central Day from Bournemouth. Get to junction of M3 and cloud of white smoke from the car. Pull over and the bottom coolant pipe has come off and dumped my fresh (put in yesterday) coolant out!
So being a cossie owner I had 5L of water with me and a small selection of tools. Pipe back on, fill with water and run her up. Fortunately I seem to of got away without damage and off I go again.
All is well until I get to J15A of M1 on A43 and she splutters, so I pull over and stop.
This time it's a flat battery. Have a look and wire has fallen off the back of the alternator! Put it back on and now waiting for recovery to come give me a jump start!
Bad times!

TOOTALL yes it is a white saph. Guessing you saw me then? Just been dropped off at home so time to remove the alternator and have it refurbished or look for another.
I agree I had to laugh, even tho I was so pissed off. Thing is, I did 20 odd miles last nite to give it a shakedown and even with heater and lights on I had no problem.
On subject of water hose coming off, I think I got lucky as with hose replaced and refilled she ran perfectly. No loss of water since. Good job too as just done the head gasket!

Seems to be a bad day for Dorset cossies. Just spoken to my mate who also has a white saph, and he's just had his 2nd tyre blowout of the day! He's also awaiting recovery home now.
Bad times.

lol Yes I was heading up. Got up at 5 o'clock, had worked through the night after work every night this week, and all for nothing in the end.
Hey ho, RS ownership for you at it's worst.

If so, it might have been my mate's one. He had a little mishap on the way to Santa Pod and damaged the n/s/r suspension quite badly.
Was only 5 minutes away too!

No panel damage though luckily!

Bad luck Gary. I saw you going over Tuckton bridge the other night and it sounded fine. Sorry to hear you've had problems now. Still, all part of the fun apparently!
