Is it wrong to be nervous?
Dropping the car off at MSD this weekend for a live map and I'm bricking it for some reason
Knowing my luck I'll get a call on Monday letting me know its thrown a leg out of bed or something.
Thats provided we don't get sunk on the way

Brilliant, cant wait to hit 7800 rpm with 30+ psi of boost miles from home, in the rain... and the dark. I shall instruct Mr James to add a brolley and some sand to the mapping kit next week. LOL

Why do the Guys at MSD need to keep hold of a car for a week to do a live map ?
Just wondering, not questioning their work...............

In order to complete a set up, then fit all the gear, and carry out several cold starts in order to perfect it, then mapping, just takes some time, we only get one chance of a real world cold start per day.
Then theres the problems to deal with..
If someone takes a car from anyone for a full blown live map and its back with you by the next day, i would be seriously questioning the quality of the job, because it takes time.

Can I just query, I know you cant really "live map" an MFi unit, so how does the set up you do work on that?
I am looking to have mine set up, and wondered whats involved as you only need it for a few hours

Wasn't nervous at all when NMS mapped mine, but that was 350hp. I think I'd definitely be more nervous with the more power expected!

what would you say in your words is a fully blown live map then james ??
Surely a standard engine with a well known turbo a average cossie tuner would have a calibration file good enough as i know there would be very little or none at all setup with cold start and idle on the webber ! If you were talking bigger cams ect then i say yeh a few cold starts maybe to check it out due to the idle changes
