When my fuel pump wouldn't prime it was because the ignition live pin in the 6-pin connector to the car loom had come loose and wasn't making a connection.
Hope you get it sorted soon

Who wired you engine loom in?
A 3dr doesn't have a permanent live to the loom. You need to make a new one from the battery.
You need to check you have a permanant live (battery)
Ignition live (black wire)
Pump live (black & red)
At your plug where the engine loom joins your car loom.
I would say it's a wiring fault not something broke.

Very similar to issues I had a couple of years ago, done my head in as just cut out and couldn't start again. After a lot of time trying swapping parts etc it ended up being a combination of bad connections gap and timing on cps and phase sensor, I hadn't messed with anything before it stopped. I also rebushed the distributor as that had some play in it. I did all the usual checks and almost gave up. Sure it will be something simple it's just finding it, also check the original fuel pump feed wire it should show 12 volts while cranking.

Would it be worth checking that the crank sensor is
1: still plugged in and into the right socket
2: still got all 4 teeth on the pully and gapped right.
Are you running a cam sensor? If you are not then the phase sensor in the dizzy still needs to be plugged in for the fuel cycle ?
And if they have got the fuel lines round the wrong way then you will possibly hear the fuel pump strain like mad if you prime it more than once, I saw a car with this issue the other day after someone had been spannering... Be careful of pressure in fuel lines, when taking them off if it does turn out to be that though!

are you 100% sure the high pressure fuel line is connected to the fuel rail
do you have a volt meter that reads ac
if so connect it to pis 3 and 4 of the ecu multiplug you'll have to slide the back off the plug
leave the ecu plugged in meter set on ac crank the engine you should see 3-600 mv
you have my number

it should run on just one ignition amp, mine did when.one of them died anyway. Obviously just 2 cylinders though.
I would check the gaps on the cps and phase and make sure all 4 lugs on the crank pulley are in tact.
Can you smell fuel from the exhaust after cranking for a bit?
Dizzy timing would also be one of my first checks, seems it only needs to be a tiny bit out to stop it from starting.
how long have you had the wasted spark setup? I assume it hasn't been run since you installed it?
