If you mean which engine is better then it really does depend. The I4 engine in the RS2k is an ok unit for an out the box bit of grunt. IMHO though it's heavy and does nothing for the balance of the car. I would stick with a 2 litre Zetec for turboing as is there is far more scope for power and more people that have done it so information and assistance is more readily available.
What sort of budget are you looking at as a Zetec turbo isn't cheap and then you'll need to allow for suitable management to run it, and brakes and suspension to reign it all in. By time you've done it all you do need to step back and think if you'd do better just changing your car for something else?

If you're going to keep things relatively basic, then I'd go for the RS2000 engine (or just buy an RS2000, they're cheap enough).
If you're going turbo, I'd just do it one hit and fit a MK1 Focus RS engine. It's based on a Zetec, is already pretty strong and will offer enough scope for most people.

Everyone allways comes out with the same old bollocks,
The rs2k i4 is too heavy,
The rs2k i4 cant be modded easily,
the rs2k i4 cant be turbo'd
The zetec is better
Usualy these comments are made by people who have little experience of either engine
Its all bollocks.
There has been major developments with the rs2000 lump in recent years, with people getting excellent results.
There are a few very good turbo rs2000s round now and even some budget builds smashing the power figures.
The rs2000 is a bloody strong engine imo and well worth a look
You just have to know where to look for the parts.

Have to say I own a 2.0 Zetec Mk2 Orion (being completed now) and had a Mk6 Scrote, RS2000. I absolutely loved the engine in the 2k, screamed away through the revs and made a noise like no other. The car went well with it in too... plus it felt very strong...

Erm.. actually I have a fair bit of experience with both. Ime the unit just isn't as good or as easy to work with as the Zetec. There is certainly far more information and knowledge around it than there is with the I4.
That's not bollocks, just simple good old fashioned fact

had a mk6 4x4 rs2000 for a while and found it very reliable and a decent car, but escorts simply wrot way too much and for the money I would go focus as most mondeos are taxis unless its a thirsty ST

The standard 2.3 fitted to the galaxy produces less power than the 2.0 rs2000 lump.
Its only when rebuilt using either the 2.0 head on the 2.3 or 2.0 cams in the 2.3 head that it actualy becomes worth while.
Other things need doing aswell like removing the balancing shafts and fitting the 2.0 sump.
Its quite an involved conversions but it works well.
