Hi there,
I reciently installed a 1.6 Zetec engine into my XR2i as the CVH lump expired. The engine ran on the original ecu, but had no power. So I ripped out the ECU and main dash loom from the SI Escort donor to swap into the XR2i.
My problem now is that all the connector plugs are different to the fiesta ones, and I can't fit the escort clocks and switches to the fiesta dash.

is there anywhere I can get the wiring diagrams for both the fiesta and escort (with pinouts)?? then I could just swap the connector plugs on the looms...

Well first problem is you've used the 1.6 Zetec which in silvertop form is utterly shite and not even half as good as the CVH you are replacing. You can get it running but to be brutal don't bother, get a 2 litre silvertop from a Mondeo and a DEEP, DESK or DEWY ECU to run it all. Ironically this will almost certainly be cheaper to insure.

 

TBH, I wish I had just fitted another CVH lump and saved the major headache, but the escort was the only other car available to me, and i am now stuck with the mess...

 

As said get a mondy engine.

Buy the conversion plate all you need then is mounts, cvh flywheel and a few other bits.
