Default Fitting Focus RS box in Series 2

Im in the middle of building my escort rs turbo. The 2 litre zetec is built, the brackets are welded on the inner wing to take the mtx75 box. Today i bolted the engine and gearbox together and fitted it in the car, so the engine mount and top gearbox mount are holding it in, just need to make a bracket for the bottom rear gearbox mount.

It looks like i have welded the top gearbox mount bracket too far forward. I have taken the engine mount off again and supported the engine on a jack. When i move the cambelt end forward so the engine looks straight with the front panel, theres no way my focus rs manifold and standard gt25 will fit without touching the radiator. Tomorow i will try and move the rad as far forward as i can, if this still doesnt work, i might try mounting it in front of the front panel? But by the time the intercooler and fans are on too, i dont think the bumper would fit?

The only other thing i could do is fit one of those manifolds where the turbo sits above the gearbox? Whats your opinions people? My engine is capable of 380ish bhp, its just the focus rs msnifold and turbo thats restricting it. But didnt really want to keep throwing money at it, and i got a gt25 and manifold cheap.

Any advise on what to do? Thanks in advance!

Tom, on my setup my rad sits bang on that bolt on the crossmember, fan, then intercooler and bumper fits ok. From your picture it looks like if you positioned your rad in the same place then you would have clearance.

As above, if you've welded it to far forward, Lop it off and weld it back in where you need it. I would.

Yeah thats what im going to do. When the top mount is sorted, and the engine is level and straight, any idea how to attach the bottom / rear mount? Cheers

crazycage does a much neater mount than the one you have now, plus the rear mount.

Crazy cage - do you have any photos of a rear one you do? Ive modified the ally bracket that bolts to the box so the engine is now level and straight! Just the rear one to do. Might also uprate the top mount too.
