My thoughts exactly, one of my friends was driving a car involved in a collision with a lorry and his passenger was killed, he has to live with that in his mind for the rest of his life.

You wouldnt say that if it was your son that was killed.

Of course I would'nt but I'm commenting on what everyone else should be looking at, same as the judge who passed sentence.

I had a accident in my truck in 1979, i had the air pipe that joins the unit brakes to the trailer burst causing me to jack knife into the path of a young girls car killing her, to this day it goes through my mind every night before i go to sleep.

If you have not lossed a family member like this then you have no idea whats its like.

The guys who killed the boy will get out of prison and live there lives,im sure they will think about it now and then and feel sad,i know they didnt go out to kill the boy.

BUT thats nothing compared to what the family is going through, trust me they will never be the same again.

problem is with forums is once one dog gets a bone the rest of the pack wants a bite too.

this is MASSIVLEY off topic

REspects should be paid to the childs family and friends and not slagging a random company off

seriousley people grow up

i agree, he cleary needs to be punished but im betting that waking up every day knowing youve killed a child is the worst punishment that anyone could have, there is no way he set out to kill someone but he is a twat for driving the car in the first place.
its a really tough one this.

Gavt, like ive said it goes on all day every day and will untill the end of time at most garages

with regards the sentance, i agree and disagree with the comments,
i do belive in a life for a life, but then i think this was a genuine accident,
i know people who`ve died racing, who`ve been killed by people texting and using phones in cars but in all fairness, death by dangerous driving and manslaughter SHOULD carry different circumstances,

but i will stand by the fact the man is being judged for working at Kwik Fit

To clarify, my hypocrite claim is directed at all those getting high and mighty about the guilty party's driving.

I don't for one second believe ANYONE on here has driven perfectly with no near misses what so ever. This guy unfortunately for him and the victim, got his moment of fun wrong in the worst possible way.

The only difference between him and us therefore, is that he got it wrong and got caught / got unlucky.

I'd hate to kill or injure someone on the roads, but if it happened I'll not be volunteering for a life prison sentence and I'd bet you or anyone else in the same boat would be exactly the same. So why so many are going "hope he gets raped" "should get life" or whatever, step back from your key board warrioring, and realise the Kwik Fit guy could be you.

And now while I'm in my high and mighty mode, also stop and think when you're on the road ragging around, that that kid you nearly hit, could be your own kid, or that car you just squeezed past on a dodgy move could have been your wife and kids.

Situation is fucked up for all parties, no one is a winner here

i wouldnt volunteer for life myself but if i did the same as him and i got a tougher sentence then that would be my own fault and id have to live with that.

what so that makes it alright? why should it be alright for someone to take out your pride and joy and ragged the shit out of or maybe crash it?

When i had my accident in my lorryi wa.s cleard of blame, but i still had a year where i could not get back in the cab, a family who lived next door to my parents gave my mother hell for what i had done, she went on to have 2 boys, one a year after getting his car killed 2 people while overtaking a car on a hump back bridge.

I am saying no more.

Agreed Si - 100%.

We've all been there at least once, some on many, many occasions no doubt.
