A friend at work's daughter has gone and bought an 02 plate VW Polo 1.2 (60k on clock). However after having it delivered after driving it she's noticed the oil pressure light come on but only when the car is crawling / going slow. When going normal speed / fast the light stays off. The light is illuminating red when coming on. Could this be a dodgy oil pump? Anything else it could be?
Cheers!

A friend had one of these and it was just total trouble.
Having changed the pressure sender and oil pump it was finally diagnosed as the timing belt tensioner had gone and the belt had jumped a tooth.
I have no idea how these are related to the oil, but a new tensioner and belt and a re-timing certainly fixed it

Change the oil press switch first nose. That light comes on at 7 psi or something, and I am sure at low engine speed that would knocking a treat if there was a real pressure problem!
If it came from a garage I would speak to them to see if they will sort?
