i've seen plenty of cars now running around with the led day time running lights and it's all good as i know what they are

but i've also now seen some that seem to have one slim sliver of light in place instead of lots of separate led's

so what's going on there then?

i've tried to look on the audi site to see if they show them but they all seem to be led types

i'm sure i've seen them on not only just audi's though, but also saab's and there have also been a few lorries running them too

can anyone shed any light on the matter (no pun intended )

they sell them everywhere now as I was in euro car parts in watford last week and they had a demonstrator board set up with them on and was told they sell around 40 sets a week at moment at their branch

 

Could even be cold cathode tubes?

 

Some cars have fiber optic ligts, the same type that is used to light up heater controlls on many cars.

 

They look like solid blocks of light, in the same way that neon lights look so that's even more confusing to me

Not sure if a retro fit would be in the cards

 

My ms-design led lights on my Kuga, is a a steel block whit led lights innside. This have black background instead of the oe ones on newer Kuga, who have silver background

 

dont like them personally as they make cars look like the coca cola lorry in christmas adverts
