AP Racing cosworth clutch pedal weight?
Hi,
I am considering weather or not to go to hydraulic clutch conversion on my YB powered Mk1 escort. I have used uprated clutches before, however only with organic linings.
The question is, what is the pedal "weight" like on the ap racing "sprung" six padel clutch as sold by the likes of burton power/reyland etc??..
Is this managable in normal driving, Would like to hear from people that have "used this specific clutch" with a cable please..

Does any one know the the weight of the cover in pounds etc? . I hered an uprated cvh one was around 1600lb once i think ?..
I don't mind changing the cables every 2/3 years if need be. I know they don't last !!.
Is the pedal weight much more heavy than a stand one?

cocyhn it will still be a bitch to pull away as its the nature of a clutch with little slip, but at least youll be able to control it easier with hydraulic.
Plus when you get out the car after driving in heavy traffic you will walk in a straight line rather than in circles

They should be able to tell you the clamping pressure of the pressure plate you are to purchase. In NZ you can get the pressure plates uprated (change pivot point of fingers) i first tried 2300lbs very heavy but am now using 2100lbs squeeze daily on a cable clutch which is alot better. I have got used to it but jump back into a japper and you almost punch the clutch pedal through the floor!! i would go over 1900lbs next time, he measured a std cossie pressure plate for me which was 1700lbs to start with.

ive got an ap 6 paddle clutch to go in my saph - but when i had my 3dr i tried a couple of cars with the ap 6 paddle and the alcon 6 paddle clutches fitted - the alcon had a much lighter pedal feel so i went with that in my 3dr and never had any issues.
I need a light pedal as have had two knee ops on my left leg

BTTT for part numbers. Someone must know. Cant imagine it's only traders that know this info by now so i dont get all the secrecy. You hear a lot on here how cheap it is to do without buying a kit or how you can get centre push easily too yet noone shares the details. Strange.
