Default Reviving shiny leather on a steering wheel?

The leather on my steering wheel is in good condition, just really shiny.

Apart from getting it recovered. is there any way to get it back to a more natural finish?

I did my wheel last night and am pretty pleased with the results, so many thanks for the tip.

However, once all the polish came off, I uncovered a bit of a scuff that I guess the wheel had been polished over to cover.

So, next question:
Anyone know how to get rid of the scuff-mark?
