Depends on Rim Size. ET35 is best. 38 should be OK, but 35 is definately best. However, for 17" ET38 should stop the wheels hitting the rear arches, but might cause them to touch the front inner arch.

The lower the number, the further the wheels will stick out!!

Its because there are no 17's that are less than 7" Wide. You won't avoid it.

It's either, ET35 and possibly hit the outer rear arch or ET38 and possibly hit the inner front arch.

Some people have fitted ET35 17" Wheels and had no problems. I would personally do that, then have the arches trimmed back a bit if necessary.

I dont want to come across wrong, sorry if I do!!

You will not successfully fit anything over ET38 on an ERST. ET45 will not only make it look like one of the old Commer BT Vans, but they will totally foul the front arches.

Nicest Wheel/Tyre Size as a compromise for road use is 7x16 (6.5x16" would also work) ET35 195/45/16. Just as I have on mine. The car handles really well and is nice to drive. It never touches either my Front or Rear arches.

You could use 205/40/16, which is what I may try next.

7x17" with 205/40/17 is OK, but following the guidelines above. 7.5x17" has been done by several on here, but I totally wouldn't recommend it.

7.5x7 is a wast as you would only put 205x40 tyres on them anyway so aint much point unless you cant get the wheel you want in in 7x17

16s are the best for RST for traction i hear

but its all about looks baby 17s are the ones for me

I have got 7.5 on an ET30 which stick out too far and catch the arches. Even with this offset I cannot fit my coilovers as the spring catches the tyres.

I am now in the process of obtaining a set of wheels 7" wide on an ET35 so I can fit my coilovers and not catch my arches. 7.5 would fit better on a different offset with only Koni's but coilovers require that bit more room on the rear.

Ive changed from ET37 to ET43 7x 16's and have no problems on either. I'm running 205/45/16 on front. 195/45/16 on back. I have no catching issues at all. I am going for 215/40/16 on the front next - they are actually smaller than 195/45's.

So a set of 7x16" ET40 4x100 wheels wouldnt be suitable for a Series 2, either on Standard Brakes or a Hi-Spec Brake Kit??

Cause I have been offered some for a good price that would look the bollox on the Turbo.

I have 17" x 7.5" momo arrows with an et of 38, on standard suspension it rubbed if someone was in the back and i went over a bump, since fitting the spax adjustable shocks and set to the 2nd hardes setting all is fine ....... apart from my fillings lol
