Default Mondeo 2004 tdci 130bhp... Possible mods?

Hi there, just bought myself a new run around, and just wonderd what sort of mods i can do to poke some more power out of it.
Also considering a remap in the future ( after the cossie is finished) , anyone have any companies they can reccomend for a good map on these?
Its a 2004 2litre tdci 130bhp (euro 3) with 130,000 on the clock.
Already thought of a kn panel filter and egr blank plate (and ignore glow plug light), and dropping bit of 2stroke in the diesel to keep the fuel system happy.

anything to up the power without blowing it up! Lol

Any help appreciated guys
Thanks
Rob

I am sure i have read if your lights on due to blocking the egr valve off then drill a hole 8-10mm in middle of the plate

I fitted one to my 53 plate tdci and not had light on just need to fit one to my ST tdci

As Tiff said, plus the K&N panel filter and a re-map by Stu at MS Developments, you will not believe the difference in drivability and torques make sure your clutch is up to it though

I havent bought the plate yet as havnt picked up the car yet. But have seen them on ebay and thought they are good idea as being a mechanic i know the egr valves on these are their achilliees heel, and if you say your light didnt come on then hopfully mine wont so happy days . Is it true that the remaps really develop better mpg aswell ?
Thanks

As above, mine was the first of the 6 speed models, so no electronic egr valve blanking problems. Its only the later cars that have this. Mine had remap, de cat off ebay, k&n cone filter, and egr blank.
I swapped with my mate for an isuzu pickup, and have been using my mums old c2 vtr as my daily for a bit, and the mondeo would wipe the floor with it! I actually miss it on the drive to work.

Its amazing how much you get for your money!! No other car can offer that for the price they sell for, and if you know what problems to look out for they should be no problem buying a good one.

As yours is a Euro3 you can blank them off and the EML won't come on. I've got an EGR bypass pipe which does away with the whole component (and provides a take off for a boost gauge).

As has been said panel filter, decat, Airtec intercooler, and a good remap from the like of Evolution Chips will see you with plenty of torque. I tried a Bluefin on mine and noticed no difference whatsoever other than a lumpy tickover!

If you want to improve the car Focus ST front brakes are a straight swap and are a lot better than standard.
