Default Respray prices?

Got a new 406 and the bodyworks a little tatty.
Biggest issue is theres a tiny bit of surface rust on the bonnet, just at the front.
It's been resprayed in the past and it's come back.

How much would I expect to pay to have this sorted out?

Bailes.

Nice car to be honest, the bodyworks a little scuffed and tatty but the only thing that really annoys me is this tiny bit of rust on the bonnet.
Drove it 500miles yesterday back and for West Yorkshire and not once did I worry about noises, wandering etc. Was nice to just chill out

Nothing, just fancied something a little better on fuel and abit more Solid on the motorway.
Uncle got a new Citreon C5 so had his 406!

2.0 HDi, only 90bhp but if you learn to ride the torque it's adequete. No overtaking though

Couple of things I need to sort on it...
I managed to loose the Unlock button on the key, so bought a refurb kit on ebay.
Goto get the wheel alignemnt done as the steering wheel isn't quite straight.
And front brakes need changing as one of the discs is buckled.

Properly nice mile muncher!

I owned a petrol 406 a couple of years ago. Only bought it as a stop gap for a few weeks. Was actually a very nice car, big and comfy, I quite liked it.

Nowt, had a wheelbearing replaced last week and a CV gaitor. Mechanic gave it a PreMOT which is due in 2 months.
Looking to get rid of it now I guess. Think Ł800 is a reasonable amount for a 03 focus with 92k on it with a new timing belt but with pretty crap bodywork.

Getting a bonnet in my colour is harder than it looks, finding a 406 in the same colour as mine is hard work!
I'l just hold on and look at ebay.

It is a bit different to owning a Mondeo... if you point the Ford at a stretch of twisty road, then it'll actually deal with it pretty well and put a smile on your face.

The Pug 406 won't.

Grant

I would just leave it mate. It's not worth spending a couple of hundred quid to get it painted on something like that. It looks a tidy enough car in the pics so i would just run it.

They either seem to be scruffy but mechanically sound, or look mint and be a pile of crap like my last one!
They are a proper 'chill out' car.

And those bonets are for coupes! Totally different.

I'd say its time you took up gambling! You seem to love throwing your money away.......or get married, that'll soon lose you some money!

Seriously why entertain the idea of wasting money on mundane cars that will be worth no more after? Even for the job of getting a bonnet in the same colour and fitting it yourself is it going to increase in value by what you spend? I doubt it!
Use the money and have a few beers, enjoy yourself. Oh wait................
