Outside cameras
Ive just put a colour camera on the outside of my house to watch the garage but now its dark the picture is shit, i had a black and white one and at night the picture was much better, how could i improve the picture on the coloured camera.
Does it have infrared illumination ? that could explain why the b&w one was better.
By the way, legally, if any area outside your property is visible by the camera, you should really have a sign warning people that there is a cctv camera. Your neighbours may not be impressed by you recording them go in and out of their houses

i have a colour camera with infra red doobry's that looks out over my boat , quality is quite good tbh , but since i added a security light i can see peoples faces and features perfectly clearly

As frog said with the signs and stuff. You can get round this by have a tiny sign, theres no rules on sign size.
Or do what i did and get a lipstick camera (called this because of their shape and size duh!) with infared led's around the lense, made for some good viewing especially as it was poked thru a 1" hole
Had it coming thru the facia board just under the roof edge.
