Anyone remember that old video of a turbo bike comparison against the bbr cosworth mogul? Proper old snook video but brilliant engineering gone into both and both were pretty nuts! Just came too me the bike was called the Steve burns monster bike!

Standard Hayabusa will be around 160bhp@wheel

Here's a quick one, 7.904s 1/4m at 190mph

Making nice power and torque (at rear wheel) shame the ignition was acting up on the run below, upgraded ignition setup and they're hoping for over 800bhp!

LOL the busa Turbos are fucking insane lol....theres a guy on youtube called ghost rider hes got a turbo'd Busa and bloke wheely's at over 200MPH lol on a motorway with his pals, cant remember what the search was but try looking under turbo busa for the search, popping a wheely at that speed just seems like piss lol.

You wouldnt be the bloke by any chance with the 4x4 saph in the cossy vs R1 Video would you lol ? if you are that cosworth is SAVAGE to put it plainly

TBH the bikes sound simply awesome, love the scream as they climb

Mate had a ZX9R(??)ninja i think it was, with specced cans an had been dyno jetted(??)tbh bike knowledge im well thin on lol but he took me pillion on that..he been a die hard biker for 20+..,

I simply felt humbled after a 30min unhinged ride on the back of that.
Blew me away how he and it geled and just how fast they pick up an go, and that scream as it neared the limit, an the fact that i was physically being lifted off the bastard at 150+.. was probs the biggest rush i have ever had and still yet to be beat.

Fudgekin love bikes me just a shame i aint built to keep one on the road or upright

lol an r1 would kill a 470 bhp cossie, anyone who knows how quick they genuinely are will tell you that. ive had a 472 bhp rwd cossie and no way would that of lived with an r1, the supra at 1.6 bar so around 720 hp beat a t reg r1 by about 20 car lengths roughlyby 169 mph.

What Power to hit that Speed in a mile that is very very fast . I take it thats not a standard Turbo Busa , the one we saw was not in that league . My car can only muster 204 in the mile, rather pathetic against a modded bike . These high Power bikes are on a different planet.
Sorry if Sapph 1 starts getting nasty, I know full well the capabilities or lack of in this case of my car as I tend to put my car where lads like Sapph 1 mouth is .

Gen 1 will be around 160bhp @ the wheel. Most wont see 200mph as standard, even the ones without the speed limiter, however there are ones that do. They tend to see mid-high 190's usually.

Im getting mine mapped at some point this year, the bloke who maps/sets up my bikes has had N/A Busa's up as far as 220bhp and last time I spoke to him was on with one that was looking good for the 240 mark

I have a 1999 4XV R1 running 150 (149.7) bhp at the rear wheel too, which is great fun

No such thing as a standard turbo Hayabusa, they're all N/A in standard trim.

Rod, my car is approx 500-520bhp, your car is 850-900bhp, its obviously going to be slow compared to yours, but fast to me, and its very, very impressive that your car can achieve what it does and I have EVERY respect for it, although you're STILL to test yours since the new engine has been developed, but I just sometimes wish that, from time to time, you'd just accept that there are other vehicles on the planet that are as fast, maybe even faster than yours, seriously, you're like a stuck record.

It's hilarious how the thread has degenerated into a willy waving contest over power. One area in which cars can never compete with bikes is the "organic" feeling of riding a bike - theres nothing else like it.

To the OP, lovely machine, will be good to see some finished pictures.

Those bikes are mental! Unfortunately videos don't upload well on my mobile, wasn't the ghostriders busa making 499bhp (don't know whether that was crank or wheel power though). I'd never go on a bike though, my balls are nowhere near large enough.

Ghost rider doing 214.3mph at elvington, on the back wheel.

http://youtu.be/HrBdKHiVUR4

He tried this year to beat that speed but melted a piston.

Nice Kat. looks very nice.

I think the problem here is people always compare highly modified cars to standard bikes. Chuck 10K or what ever it costs at a car evo/cossie/scoob etc and you may get a car that can keep up or just beat an early R1 for example. Not really an achievement when you can buy an early R1 for 2K or less and have super car beating performance. Chuck 10K at a bike and you will pretty much untouchable.

Rod,

A standard Busa is 175 HP at the crank.
I've not idea how much a bike loses through the transmission but I'd call it 150 HP at the wheel for the Busa?

Whatever the case: very fast (and comfy!) bike but not a match for mine I guess.
The Busa has superior aerodynamics though and I think the Busa would easily do 200+ once turbo'd whereas mine is as aerodynamic as a schoolbus

200+ on a bumpy road is fucking scary I reckon!
The higher powered turbo Busa lift the front over crests at silly speeds!

Quick Reply: Cossies out accelerate big bikes right?
