Default Lambda sensor postion

We have got a new T34 for our 4x4 Saff , however is doesn't have the machined hole for the lambda sensor on the exhaust housing.

As were running standard closed loop should we get the exhaust housing machined to accept the lambda sensor or get a boss welded onto the down pipe and if so where should it be welded on ??

Cheers

Did you do it yourself or get a machine shop to do it ?
Did you machine a flat so that the sealing washer fits to give a gas tight seal ?
