Default Euro Rod/Stock Car Challenge.

Hi Guys. I will add to this thread as i go but I have some questions to ask and general advice is going to be needed over the course of the season.

I am starting a Euro Rod race car season next year and i have the car already.

A vauxhall Tigra. Sorry guys all the vauxhalls are just better at oval racing simple as.

The engine needs to be limited to 1.4 with no detectable mods anyway. NOw i dont want to cheat but looks like everyone else does but will see how i go first couple of races.

Anyway who else does it on here.

Question for chip really I have an SE engine limited to 8V any mods i can do?

also tyres i can have any i like. whats best?

any advice would be great.

oh and sorry about it being a tigra lol. ill get some pics up when i can!

I was wondering if 888s would help.

are tyres free?

bet they arent. Think you probably have to run a set of remoulds mate. Check regulations

edit*

is it these? scroll down

http://www.rollingthundershow.co.uk/Formula.htm

says road legal tyres. Soooo get the stickiest ones you can I guess!

The people doing it will know whats best mate

the brother races in a 1400 saloon class here in n ireland,
he s got a corsa with a 14 se plant,
are you allowed to run injection?
cause there is no carbed inlet manifold to suit the round ports in the se head,
we use the 13sr inlet.

I think you can run injection its just more of a headache.

I have SE head.

I think tyres just have to be road legal as said porkie and yes thats exactly what im doing...

are 888s road legal they must be? Are they the grippiest? Bit pricey though for this sort of thing

I've bought a shell with a cage and I'm building the engine myself. bottom end all done of yesterday and waiting for head to comeback.

Then its the diff thats the next hurdle and a seat and I'm ready to race really.

need a dolly or small trailer too though which is my next problem...

Have you thought about tyre softner? I'm sure the drag guys use it to make the tyres stickier so they grip better off the line, maybe it could help you with cornering speed? Just don't put it on in front of everyone.
