Default tyre pressure advice required pls

Hello, question is I have BF Goodrich radial long trail t/a 31x10.50 r15lt tyres on standard alloys fitted on my shogun. They say 50psi max @cold on the sidewall. In the doorshut of the vehicle it says 26psi front and 29psi rear but I assume this is for the standard tyre size (whatever they may be).I have put 45psi in all round and it seems to drive fine, granted it would be totally rubbish on anything other than the road.
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
If you click the spec it says about the load, max pressure etc.
Obviously I dont really want them like balloons because I doubt its stopping ability With the lower pressures in it wanders and its noisy as hell.Any suggestions ?

Yeah, the marking on the sidewall are max inflation, not recommended pressure.
With those tyres on road use i'd go for about 30-32 psi all round.

thanks ,yeah I will drop them down a bit.It does not get used on dual track/motorways so I doubt there is any issue with heat build up.It must just drive like a pile of sh*t ! Not shelling out on new tyres to try and cure something I am only gona use for a couple of months over winter thats why I was asking about pressure .I have read on some forums people running 40psi in this tyre for normal road. Will drop them down to about 35 and try that .
