Void Bushes,Rear Arches, sills & Boot Floor go so watch out for thos but other than that good cars as i have had a few "tina's" in my time.
Proper old skool and cool as these days if you can find a gooden
Good thing about them is the amount of interchangable parts with the most obvious is the v6 cosworth which simply drops in or the 2.8/2.9 from the Granada/Sierra
I went a different route with my mk3 and put a 3.0 essex V6 but like i said everything is interchangable right across the tina range so if you put the v6 in just need to get the v6exhaust etc
You will have to sort the suspension out as they are a bit on the wobly side ( Very ) but over all everything is uprateable and quite easyerly doable
Here's mine from a fews ago
Regards
Ian

Dont get me wrong, I love mk1 and mk2 escorts, but when you go to classic ford shows and its row after row of escorts, it is a bit of a let down (even though they are great looking). I love seeing more "unloved" fords, less popular ones like the Corsair, Z-cars and granny's.

i currently buildin a cossy mk5 i love mk1/2 escorts etc but there stupidly priced for all of it for example average condition set of rear lights for mk1 escort Ł100 or there abouts i just bought pair of brand new rear lights an foam gaskets Ł32 delivered bargain!!! plus as already said a break form the norm an too be honest just as much fun as escort when cruising round! ok may not handle quite as well but unless your rallying or competative racing does it really matter that much? only down side too a cortina/ granada (granada more so) is the fact they get stolen for bangers an i race my self so i know all too well what some banger driver an not all i must add are like! any way just my thoughts fella an get 1 bought!

PassionFord Post Whore!!
My first company car was a 4 door Mk5 1.6L on a W plate in "terracotta" paint.
I was sorry to see it go, and the Mk3 Escort 1.3 Ghia that replaced it really didn't measure up.

My mate has the "most desirable" mk5 cortina. A "Rio Brown" 1.6 ghia estate on 7" polished Wolfrace Slots and a 2.1 pinto with Ashley 4 branch and system, with a Weber 44IDF's and a beige interior. It actually goes really well and looks cool imo

I love all the old skool Fords
Cortinas, Granadas, Capris, Escort mk1 and 2, Zephyrs, Anglias, Zodiacs and Sierras.
My family have pretty much had them all , I would love a Cortina or another Capri.
Get it bought fella
