" To test what this monster of a car was capable of, it was taken to Bruntingthorpe proving ground, two sets of timing equipment were set up near the end of a two mile straight. On each run the speed was increased and the car was checked, finally we reached a speed that was safe for the limited two miles we had, checked the times against each other and took the lower of the two. This was 211 mph, not bad for a car that you can use every day. "
That is taken from www.gtart.co.uk under projects
So take and shove it up your ass and NEVER question me again I only post facts I can back up , have you got that ?

Deeeeeano, you seen the reply from Guy?
And no reply from Gary (even tho he posts) on either thread (that and the "AntiLag" one) that calls BS on him.
Steve,
I hate turning this point into an argument as it seems like I am disrespecting Gary and GT-ART when that is not my intention at all (he has been a dedicated long-standing GTR petrolhead and has achieved many great things with both his and Andys cars). My intention is merely to ensure that those who claim to enter the rare club of genuine 200mph+ have done so with authenticated independent proof.
The photos that were on the GT-ART website from an article printed in a Japanese magazine state 211mph and do so with a photo of the speedo showing 211mph. Their only data-log trace that was ever posted showed the car reached 187mph only. If someone from the timing company will state it reached a genuine 211mph that would suffice.
The reality is also that I drove the beast many years ago (thanks Gary ) and also drag-raced against it at Santa Pod in my R34 about 3-4 years ago (that great day we took over the BMW Owners Club Day). At that time Garys car was running a best of 11.5sec and dynoing about 630bhp. I do not therefore believe the car was capable therefore of reaching 211mph in the limitedcspace at Brunters in the state of tune it was then.
I have a full GPS laptop based data-logging system and will happily offer this as an independent to anyone who wishes to prove a genuine 200mph+ run at Brunters.......
I just like facts and have no sides in the Skyline Tuner debates, as I no longer own any Skylines or use any tuners. However I still love the cars
Once it's dryer and warmer I may arrange a day for some 200mph testing, if there's interest.
