Default A1 rally sport stage 3

had my car up at A1 today for a full setup and it runs better than ever now. i fitted greens and a chip brought from steve and a 3 bar from matt lewis and left it with steve to set it all up. the car now runs like an absolute dream and i am very happy with it even though my clutch is now slipping a bit but to be fair it wasnt great to begin with.........job for the weekend

Best set up that Iv loved the way the engine sound on idle best road set up that well a good set up cossie not many cars can keep up with it lol.

As for injectors, i've tried 803's, 403's, 55's & now 83's (untested) but the 55's are by far the only ones i would use for that stage of tune.

Did A1 build your motor?

no but he recommended the best way to go with my car. by wot your saying he has done it all wrong i will have to let him know

u shouldnt listen to storys coz after a few people have passed them on they end up just that...................storys. if you havnt had first hand experiance with someone then you shouldnt really openly slag people off.

I've had one of his engines and it was shit, the head had been dropped prior to being fitted and was just slapped on, the fully ported Ł1000 head was past its last skim, probably something they desperately wanted rid of and it ended up on there, brand new ( well few k old ) 200 block cracked in several places, bolt holes full of shit.

Trust me mate, not ALL of Steves engines have been good ones, I have no doubt that he has built some storming engines though, I know people with some but if he can mug you off, I feel he will.

I have used someone not far from him with good results, only problem being the time that anything takes to get done ! all that aside though he does build some good engines and wouldn't mug you off with parts past their sell by date !

i would never be able to build an engine but surely there's only one way it goes together! Or do u mean "old hat" as in the parts have been made out of diff materiel etc??

Old hat as in old bits as new school is things like wet linnered blocks modern injecters and ecu,s that can be mapped better gt/other modern types of turbo or even the latest style twin scroll with modern better flowing manifolds and external waste gates all things that are relatively new on cosworths! think back 5 or 6 years people were not getting over 600 bhp but now there are m.a.d cars with 600 - 800bhp with huge low down torque and power!

Odd pistons, dodgy long stud fitting, shit head and on & on.... just generally a bad piss take build using old parts - not just a story, fact - pretty much the same as described by JonnyBravo but a completely different engine so it's not just a one off.
