Don't do it, bonnet bra's look completely toss!

Agree it is pointless having them at shows, take them off.
Looked at my bonnet yesterday afternoon and I have loads of stone chips on it now I have looked at it properly lol. Thing is though, the stones, do all that damage to painted metal ok. What will the leather look like after a while. As its softer it may get mullered?

Still tempted to buy one though, just to actually hide my stone chip now lol.

You will never completly stop stone chip.They could bounce of the bonnet bra and onto the paint work and chip it.

Even with a bonnet bra on there still so much of the car that can get chipped. I'd rather a few chips than look like a tit. It's a car afterall, it's built to be used.

ever thought about clear vinyl? could then cover as much if not the whole front end, as long as not left on more than 6 months then should be fine

iv had one on mine for a couple of years now no damage at all mines black so it doesnt stand out as much.here is a pic of mine fitted

Ok...... I am still sort of tempted. I think being black on a white car is a little mismatch. If you could get it the same colour it would look better. Thanks for Being brave to post the pics up sapph1.

Haha, no worries mate, i expected a the comments tbh, not really bothered lol, i know what you're saying about it looking better in the same colour as the car and i did consider getting a white one but i think it would just discoluor in time and just look grubby, especially when you've had a few dead bug splattered on it etc.

I've always thought they look ridiculous and are pretty pointless.

Example:



If people were that worried about stone chips they would clear vinyl the front end or as said above, tape it up on long drives to shows.

I know what you're saying but the area that is covered is METAL (Ford metal as well, which makes it worse lol) and will rust, whereas the area that isn't is PLASTIC, which wont, apart from the area on the edges of the wings, but i've never had a stone chip there, ever.
