He doesn't like the Clio, 3k gets you tip tip top GTI-6 or Rallye, more likely to spend half, & Mk4 is the worst Golf GTi ever built! just my 2p...

I'd go for a Cupra, or wait a couple weeks for M3's to depreciate some more lol. Personally couldn't own an EP3 Civic, would try chunk up more cash for an EK9 or Integra.

Looked at these already mate but all seem very high milers / older for the money i want to spend. Also if parts are as dear as my S4 ones were then i'd prefer to steer away...

Cheers

And before anyone says skoda its an audi A3 chassis

isnt it the polo chassis?

also, thats the lower end of the VRS budget, 2005-6 models still seem to be flowating around 4.5-5k mark

i agree though, cracking cars, after a remap the in gear torque is phenomenal!

The 2.0 in that GTi wasn't terrible as an engine, but I vehemently dislike Mk4 Golfs... shoula cleared that up lol.

Fair point, had later Cupra's in mind TBH, not quite 3500 range.

I was looking at civic type Rs. Ended up buying a 07 plate fiesta st with 32k on the clock for 4 grand.
Result. It's clean aswell also hpi clear.

All I found with the civics is there either 5-6 k and standard nice. Or 2,5 -4k and cat d or sky high miles

I love the look of the MK 6.5 Fiesta ST & ZS the only trouble would be constantly looking out the window making sure the rear spolier and bumpers were still there and not on ebay!

I know what has been said about VX but Z20LET Astra GSi / Zafira GSi an option

for some reason the Astra GSI hatches have kept their value very well

the coupes can be had for a bargain though

it is a vauxhall though......

Yeah dont want a vauxhall to be honest, i'll have a look about at the ST's but think that the civic might be more fun etc! I loved both my DC5 Integras I had so hope that it won't be too far off one of those

I to wanted the civic. But as said for my budget they were all high miles or cat d. Also the fiestas a bit cheaper on insurance ( I'm 21 ).

I loved my ek9 type r so much that the ep3 would probably feel soft ?

i've seen some that are cat d's etc but there are a handful out there with around 60-70k on them for about 3k. Insurance isnt an issue as i'm a bit older and my current company match the no claims on it that I use on my mercedes!

Not sure about the softness as ive only had dc5's, cant see it being as much fun but it will be nice as a winter runabout hopefully!

Far as Type R's go the only one that won't feel soft against an EK9 is the DC2 teg, DC5 isn't soft by any reach just obviously more refined/not as raw. EP3 would feel well soft in that company, but its meant to be the useable Type R so...

You could pick up a VERY well spec'd Glanza for that money.. they go for foook all standard, they are fun, owned 1 for a while, but i doubt they're modern enough for the OP.

So you reckon a Saab 9-3 is better than the VAG stuff!? It's basically a Vectra in disguise! I've sold a few 9-3's and they are hateful things IMO!
