Default hi all

hi all new here ive got an escort 1.6 finesse its just passed mot and ive allways said if i can get it thru the mot i'll start looking at modding it i'm looking at take the engine out and puttin a bigger one back in what do you guys recomend and what other mods are there as this is my frist car that im going to be modding and i do not know a lot bout fords

Hi there and welcome I would start with the suspension, brakes, exhaust, alloys and air fillter that would be a good start. next I would be getting the car handling properly and start looking at parts that will cope with extra power from whatever engine you choose. Engine wise there the good old 1.8/2.0 zetecs I believe these fit into the escorts quite easily and are quite easy to tune, theres the I4 engines out the RS2000's I believe they fit in quite easy but are not so easy to tune. other options you could consider is the cvh turbo out the rst's, the 1.7 puma engine or a duratec but I have no idea how easy these would be to fit to your mk6/7 escort. hope this helps mate

brillant thanks mate ive got alloys on there suspension wise i cant do a lot with that because of its family car as well but is the 1.8 si engine a zetec engine at all
